Renovation of the Lewis Theatre
Trillium is the company-in-residence at the 1939 Lewis Theatre.

December 2009 update: The theatre re-opened on November 13th! We've installed new risers and seats. The stage size has been increased during the closing and the movie screen has been raised. Last April, we repainted the lobby and theatre hall with art deco colors and design that honors the 1939 history of the theatre. Photos of the renovation are shown below.

This was only a partial renovation, until remaining funds are raised. We still have several projects to accomplish, including adding windows and a wheelchair accessible restroom, which we hope to accomplish within the year, pending funding.

Total Renovation plans include:
  • Replace the original 500 seat film hall with a state of the art film & live performance hall with 96 comfortable seats on risers, with beautiful lighting and great viewing.
  • Add a second performance studio behind the film screen
  • Add a second floor over the performance studio & side hall to create a teaching & rehearsal studio and 2 more lesson rooms
  • Make the new facility completely ADA compliant
  • Work with environmentally friendly materials and non-toxic finishes

The Lewis Theatre will be preserved as an arts facility and refurbished to become a community center for the cinematic, performing, and healing arts.

We are currently in our capital campaign to raise 1 million dollars.
