Trillium Performing Youth
Trillium Performing Youth (TPY) began in 1998 under the direction of Trillium artists Beth White and Carli Mareneck. Talented youth train at the Trillium school for Performing Arts twice a week for dance technique and repertory classes. Last year, Rachel Oliver joined the TPY teaching team.
Every spring TPY gives free performances at surrounding schools and residential homes for the elderly.
Last year's TPY participants (shown in picture at bottom) are Stephanie Anderson, Emily Cline, Morgan Hardy, Daniel Honaker, Sophie Kemp-Sherman, Samuel Kessler, Taylor Landrie, Skylar Miller, Sofa Rehak and Lauren Snider. This year, we'll be joined by new members Maggie Hower and Katelyn Roper.

"I have grown greatly these past three years. I have made strong bonds with people and am able to make friends easier. TPY has made me a happier and stronger person. I feel more like an individual now than I had before TPY. Trillium is like no other organization I could compare it to. I have never seen people so connected and supportive of one another. I feel like I’m at home every time I walk into the studio. It’s been part of my life for a very long time, and I feel like that experience has added to the person I am today."
"Through dancing with Trillium Performing Youth, I have found myself. At the WV Contemporary Dance Festival, I knew I was ready for college. At the concert, I knew I was ready for life. At the recital, I knew I had grown. TPY is strength, unity, love, community, and integrity through dance. Honesty. Sadness and healing, joy and light. Maturity. TPY = Growth. Not many words, but so many feelings. How do I express? The beginning of my dance career."
