I feel more like an individual now than I had before TPY. Trillium is like no other organization I could compare it to. I have never seen people so connected and supportive of one another. "Through dancing with Trillium Performing Youth, I have found myself. At the WV Contemporary Dance Festival, I knew I was ready for college. At the concert, I knew I was ready for life. At the recital, I knew I had grown. TPY is strength, unity, love, community, and integrity through dance. Honesty. Sadness and healing, joy and light. Maturity. TPY = Growth. Trillium Performing Youth (TPY) began in 1998 under the direction of Trillium artists Beth White and Carli Mareneck. 14-18 year olds, selected by audition, train twice a week in technique, performance and choreography. Every spring, TPY gives free performances at surrounding schools and residential homes for the elderly.
Auditions/Interviews for TPY are held in the Spring. All dancers between ages 14 and 18 are welcome. Contact the Trillium office for information.
This program is presented with financial assistance from the WV Division of Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.
